Mount Washington:


Mount Washington Alpine Resort is located 25 km (15 miles) west of the Comox Valley, 50 km (31 miles) south of Campbell River and 100 km (62 miles) north of Nanaimo. Driving time to Mt. Washington is approximately 75 minutes from Nanaimo, and 3-4 hours from Victoria.

By Car

1. Start out going north on Douglas Street/Provincial Route 1/ Trans Canada Hwy. Continue to follow Provincial Route #1 N for 112 km (70 miles) into the city of Nanaimo.

2. Turn a slight right onto Stewart Ave (Continues as the Provincial Route 1/Trans Canada Hwy) and continue for just over 1.5 kilometers (1 mile).

3. Turn left onto Brechin Rd.

4. Turn right onto Provincial Route 19A N/ Island Hwy N. Continue to follow for 25.5 kilometers (16 miles).

5. Stay straight to continue along Provincial Route 19 N/ Island Hwy N. Continue for 71 kilometers (44 miles).

6. Take exit 117 towards Cumberland/ Courtenay/ Comox. Keep right at the fork to go on Cumberland Rd.

7. Stay straight to go onto Comox Valley Pkwy.

8. Turn left onto Provincial Route 19A N/ Island Hwy/ Cliffe Ave.

9. Turn right onto Provincial Route 19A / 17th St / Island Hwy

10. Turn left onto Provincial Route 19A / Comox Rd./ Island Hwy. Continue to follow Provincial Route 19A.

11. Turn right onto Ryan Rd, and then right onto Hunt Place. Follow road to the top of the Mountain (approximately 30 minutes).

Shuttle buses also routinely make the half-hour drive up the mountain from a number of hotels in Courtenay, and from the base of the mountain.

By Ferry

The Nanaimo Duke Point vehicle and passenger BC Ferry terminals are serviced from Horseshoe Bay (North of Vancouver) and Tsawwassen (South of Vancouver) from the mainland of B.C.

By Air

The Comox Valley (YQQ) and Campbell River (YBL) Airports offer daily flights by Pacific Coastal Airlines, Central Mountain Air, and WestJet.
